D has a deep and abiding passion for teaching. They believe that the teaching process makes them a better artist, and the artistic process makes them a better teacher. D studied pedagogy while earning an MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University, and spent 9 years teaching Acting, Movement, and Theory at the University of South Florida. They currently teach Acting, Directing, Movement, and Voice at the University of Maine. They are recognized as one of the foremost teachers in the country of both theatrical intimacy and stage combat. As an instructor of combat they are particularly known for their research in and adaptation of historical swordplay.
